If you live in Utah and didn't know David Archuleta was in town last week, you probably live under a rock (which is fine if you like that sort of thing). Val and I went downtown to be a part of the chaos. By some accounts--there were over 9,000 people there. And we were a part of it. It was so fun. We took Annie and Cole (pretty much the only 2 strollers in the entire crowd). We were among thousands of cheering fans. He was brought to tears with the amount of people there to support him. We knew we wouldn't have a chance at even meeting him with all the people that were there, and the fact that he would only be there an hour or so. So we just happened to get awesome spots about 10 minutes before he showed up. He walked right by us and then sat down in front of the AT&T store to sign autographs. He didn't get much done because he kept turning around and waiving to the thousands of screaming fans. He was so humble and cute about it all. After we got yelled at by an annoyed security guard (who seriously just "lost it" and mumbled how he didn't "get paid enough for this") we went down the escalators and got another prime spot for when he left the Gateway. It ended up being perfect. Val brought her nice camera and got some sweet shots while I got some fun video footage. I bet it's SO weird for him and friends and neighbors to see him as a total celebrity when just months ago he was just the "kid nex tdoor". You've really got to see these pics upclose.

This was such a treat to watch. I love how choked up he got about all the people who were there. And how much he couldn't believe it and how grateful he was, etc...
There's something so cool about so many people being that excited about such a GOOD person.
and p.s.
Good job on the fast. I was feeling a little guilty there ...until I read that you still watched your shows. (phew!)
