Can you even have enough Cole? No.

I have to blog this before I forget.  Tonight during Cole's prayer he was doing such a good job asking for Heavenly Father to bless Danny on his test and then out of the blue he asks that we can have cake and cupcakes, "but not every day and not all the time, because if we eat them everyday we'll get big and fat".  I would love to get inside this kid's mind and see the segway between Danny taking an exam and getting big and fat from eating too many cupcakes.

Cole's class had Home Depot come and do a craft with all the Kindergarten kids.  I was a little apprehensive when I walked in a room with 45 kids holding nails and hammers but it was so cute :) They made these little pencil holders.  Before Cole would take a picture holding his project he wanted me to take a picture of him holding something else...your guess is as good as mine as to why he picked this one..

Can you tell this was pre-haircut?

Cole wanted to help me make the soup (mentioned in a previous post) so he made a "machine" that chopped up vegetables for me.  Let me tell you how super helpful that was :)

Yes, I let him use a plastic knife from IKEA to help me break up the cauliflower.  He was begging me and the knives are pretty dull so I gave in.  Can you see me explaining it to the ER? But Doc, he was begging me!

For family home evening we talked about Courage and Abinadi from the Book of Mormon.  I had a more serious conversation with him about being brave when a strangers tries to talk to you, give you something or get you to go somewhere with them.  He seemed pretty receptive until he informed me that "all Grandma's smoke".  I had to laugh because it was so unexpected and he said he saw a Grandma in her car smoking like this [he gave me a demonstration] and I had some more explaining to do.  I'm honestly afraid that he's going to go up to someone who is smoking and tell them that they're not obeying the word of wisdom.  So I made SURE he knew that they aren't bad people-it's just that smoking is bad for our bodies and we don't do it.  He insisted I explain how it's bad for your body and he asked me if our bodies will turn into flames if we smoked.  I of course told him "yes" because I want to scare the crap out of him.  JK.  I love his inquiring mind.

Today he heard some noise outside our apartment and opened the door.  He walked outside and over to the next apartment because their door was open.  "My mom said I'm not supposed to talk to strangers" and with that he RAN into our apartment and slammed the door.  Good thing he went out of his way to let this guy know.  Our neighbor is a little odd to begin with, so I'm sure this helped build our relationship with him!

I still can't believe how lucky we are to have him in our family.  He keeps things exciting and so very funny!

My little Ethan was smoking a pretzel at church a few weeks ago. We have had the cigarette talk a few times. He asked me "if someone dies from smoking does Jesus bring them back alive?" There little minds are amazing. Cole is getting so big. I Love those adorable dimples.
