Weak & Random
I gave in. I just put in a movie for Cole. We've gone 2 1/2 weeks without TV for Cole and I just couldn't do it today. Usually I'm pretty good about coming home, helping him with homework, playing and watching him get into his new legos and tinker toys but today I couldn't stay awake to finish the 3rd book we read. I actually woke myself up snorting while Cole was saying "Mom! Open your eyes!". HEH.
I'm kind of wondering what is up with the weather lately. Is it just Utah that can't make up its mind?
If I had all the money in the world--I could easily use it to buy every single book from the Scholastic Catalogs. Of course, I'd probably buy a house and a car but THEN I'd buy all the books I've ever wanted.
Banana Bread never gets old. It just doesn't. Especially my magic recipe. If you want to be temporarily happy, eat some of this. Works every time.
Bath & Body Works is selling their splendid Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin scent. Every Autumn I lather this on because it reminds me of when Danny and I were dating and falling in love. It's fun that every time I put this lotion on it brings back such happy memories. Fall was such a perfect time to fall in love.
I believe that certain things happen for a reason. Last week I had one of those experiences. I know sometimes I probably drive Danny crazy with my whole "it's meant to be!" attitude but honestly, it makes life more bearable :) But truly I had a really neat experience with someone who I haven't seen for years. They had been thinking about me and feeling like they needed to get in touch with me. It just wasn't happening so she figured if it was supposed to happen--she'd run into me. I saw her in a crowd of hundreds of people here. Very cool. Too cool to share. Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways.
General Conference. HELLO. Awesome. There were so many uplifting talks and the Spirit was pretty direct with what I need to work on. I'm particularly trying to think about the talk President Monson gave at Women's Conference about judging people. It's so hard to do because before I realize I'm doing it--I've made up my mind about someone or something. Chill out RaeLynn. Sheesh. In the Fall we go to Danny's grandparents' house and have taco salad. Then the guys go to the Priesthood session and the girls do womanly things like...talk and do crafts...and eat snickerdoodles (shhhhhhhhh). When the guys get back we have rootbeer floats and talk about how much more spiritual we are than them (totally kidding). It's a fantastic tradition. In the Spring, we chill with my family for the Priesthood Session and we like to keep things spicy by mixing things up each time. Either way it's a win-win.
