Day at the Lake

This year we decided to just spend the day at Mirror Lake instead of staying overnight. I am large and in charge and didn't feel like spending the night at this point. I think it was the right choice. I did feel a little sad as we drove away though. I sure love Mirror Lake. For the first time in years, we stopped at the Provo River Falls to enjoy the view.

Once we got to the lake we had lunch and then as is customary for Mirror Lake in August, we had an afternoon rain storm. We played games in the trailer until it cleared up and then went outside and enjoyed the cooler temps (one reason I didn't want to come home!)

Danny and I were able to sneak away for a bit to go on a walk around the lake. I knew I wouldn't make it the whole way around because I'm starting to feel lots of pressure and my feet were pretty sore but we got a good 30 minute walk in and talked baby names. We have one name we both agree on but we're both wishy washy about it so who knows if it'll really happen.

Cole and Hannah were little buddies the whole day. They were running around playing so well together.

Brian and Kam are hosting a foreign exchange student from Japan, named Suzuka. She was delightful and very easy to talk to. She was quite the character. My favorite exchange between the kids and her was when Cole asked her if they have "electronics in Japan". Ha!! Yeah, you could say that.

Danny is more brave than me. I wasn't thrilled with Cole using the hatchet but he was well supervised. Better that he do it while we're watching than when we're not :)

Grandma Miller bought some stuffed animals for the kids that were up on Friday and Cole got a cougar that he named Cosmo. The only problem was that he couldn't ever remember what he named him because it was our idea. "Dad, what did I name my cougar, again?"

Nothing says Gangsta like a stuffed animal.

Laughing at the gray underwear hanging in the tree.

Warming their buns by the fire.

Ah, Mirror Lake. You might rain on us every.single.day. and every.single.year but you're gorgeous and I love you.
