A decade of marriage

On April 7th, Danny and I celebrated 10 years of marriage. Well, to be honest, we didn't really celebrate. Things have been busy and we didn't plan very well and then the day was here. We had talked about not doing anything huge because we've been wanting to get bikes and who knew bikes were so dang expensive? What the heck. I went to my chiro appointment and then jaunted over to the dollar store to get some supplies for a last minute idea to surprise Danny. I wrote ten things I love about him and stuck it to the windshield. I left one of his favorite drinks by the tire and just as I was about to text him that he'd better go look at the car {as I was driving off}, he walked outside the building and I could see that he was calling someone. And my phone goes off. Mom had been babysitting Caleb for over 2 hours at this point so I knew I couldn't stay and chat it up. I headed home and we chatted on the phone for a few minutes.

Thank you lame dollar store marker

After work, we went as a family to Costco to pick up the bikes {which are still in their boxes waiting to be put together} and then over to Olive Garden because after all, it was our family's birthday {and we didn't plan ahead to go out alone. How lame are we?}

I remember when we were first married and talking about how when we had been married 10 years, we'd go on a cruise or do some big romantic getaway. Can I get an LOL. It was kind of on the other end of the awesome scale but maybe we'll make up for it. Maybe not. It was just an ordinary day and didn't feel romantic or special and I have been kind of bummed about it. I'm excited to finally have some bikes since it seems we are the only ones in the world who don't have them but sometimes you just need a romantic night alone with your spouse of ten years. Lesson learned: plan ahead.

I think decorating his car is the cutest idea! I did stuff like that when we were dating, but tend to forget about those fun little things. Yeah, we're all supposed to go on some Hawaii vacation or something at ten years, right? Or pay bills. :) Happy Anniversary!
