Sweet moment

We had a great Sabbath. After dinner and playing around in the backyard for a bit, we put in the movie Saratov Approach. I've been wanting to watch it ever since it came out. I was a little worried about the violence because it was rated PG-13 but I did want Cole to see it. I felt like it was really well done and I was really touched throughout the movie. During the first half of the show, Cole kept talking and asking questions (like I remember doing when I was a kid).

"Where are they?"

"Why are they in that building?"

{long, loud sigh after a slow part of the film}

I had to get after him at one point when I had to pause the movie for what felt like the tenth time to explain something.

Towards the end of the show Cole quietly asked, "Mom?" {his voice was different this time so I paused the movie and responded calmly}. "Yeah?"

"You know that part in the movie where the guy is on the telephone and talks to the parents of that missionary?"

"I do remember that."

"I felt the Spirit during that part." His voice cracked and he buried his head into the couch pillow.

"I did too, buddy. That was a really good part."

It was a tender little moment that we had and I'm glad I didn't snap at him for talking during the movie again or asking a question again. I pressed play again and got choked up. I am glad that he is able to identify when he is feeling the Spirit and that he really understands how it feels. We've talked a lot about what the Spirit feels like because it's really important to me that at an early age he can pinpoint how the Spirit communicates with him.

I'm grateful to see little glimpses of his growing testimony and it always strengthens mine when he openly shares his. I sure love that boy.
