Date Night Jar

I've been meaning to do this for a long time and now that I'm taking a break from organizing the beast that is our walk-in closet, I'll take a second.  I need some date night ideas.  My goal is to take a bunch of different ideas and put them in the jar on pieces of paper.  Each weekend we'll pick one.  It doesn't have to be expensive, it can be going for a walk, or going for a drive up the canyon, any ideas will be appreciated.  Of course, a good dinner and movie night is perfectly acceptable for this as well.  Get creative, I just want your ideas!!

Go bowling. But bring all sorts of different items you can use with your hands (oven mitts, boxing gloves, drum sticks). Then you have to bowl with the items in or on your hands.

Visit a nursing home and visit with the residents. At the end decide which person you want to be or will be most like as you age.

I love going to the book store with my husband. We hardly ever buy anything, but I always bring a pen and notepad to write down titles of books I want to check out from the library. It's the BEST place to be without kids. We usually split up for the first bit and then find each other and a cozy spot to look over the books we found interesting. Sometimes we give each other topics and the self-help section is awesome... when you're with your spouse, it's not embarrassing being in the SEX section :)

There are so many classes you can take together offered by community colleges, etc. One fee for five date nights is pretty inexpensive. Our stake does institute for the adults on Tues night and it's been a great thing to get a babysitter for-- we go after dinner and it's a free (inspiring) date!

Good luck!

Board games/card games together in the park

Improv at Off Broadway Theater (272 S. Main, SLC)

Laser Tag

Chinese dinner using the ironing board as a low table. Dim the lights and watch some crappy subtitled movies...or Jackie Chan stuff!

Make a fondant cake for someone's birthday and surprise them with it!

Um, check out a terrible movie from the 80's and sing along to the soundtrack in the background.
