Memorial Day Weekend 2014

On Saturday we got the house spiffed up for a showing and then headed over to have lunch at Chili's. We decided on checking out the new Museum of Natural Curiosity but so did the rest of Salt Lake and Utah County so we headed over to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. I was in a cranky mood and didn't want to go there because as cool as Dinosaurs are, it seems as though my symptoms are back from when I got diagnosed with IC and I've had a really bad attitude about it. Cole was happy though so it was fun to watch him. 

He is still nervous about random things that kind of make us laugh. He wouldn't have his picture taken in front of this raptor the first time we walked by it but the second time, I encouraged him to "taunt" the dinosaur to show him that he wasn't scared. I was half joking but Cole took me seriously.

A year and a half ago Cole went with Nate and some friends to the museum for Nate's birthday. He didn't want to be in the picture with this shark because it made him nervous. This is one thing about Cole that is really hard but one thing that I really love. He is stubborn but hopefully that will be a good trait to have at some point. Angie took this picture and texted it to me. He didn't care that he was left out and he didn't care that the others boys might have thought he was scared or weird. He just kept his distance.

2013

 This year he was excited to show me how brave he was. He asked for a picture right in front of the shark. It's like once he makes up his mind that he is ready, he'll do what he wants. He goes at his own pace.

2014

Creepy eyes

 Monday morning we met up with the Whites for a bike ride by the Jordan River Parkway. This was our first family ride and it's nice to be able to join in on these kinds of things after being the only ones without bikes for the longest time.

I wasn't feeling great but was persuaded to go anyway. I thought we were only going from 12600 to 11400 South and I figured it'd be fine. I was wrong. We went north of 10600 and I was dying. There just weren't enough bathrooms along the trail :) It was almost a 9 mile bike ride! I was so proud of Cole. He only made a few comments here and there about being tired but he kept up and I was really impressed.

We were supposed to go to a BBQ with the Mannings that night but I totally overdid it while not feeling good so we opted to stay back. Stinkin' bladder!
