Turkey Day Top Ten: Day 9
Apprently I need to go back to Elementary school. Thanksgiving is next Thursday so I'm a day behind. Dah well.
Day 9: I'm thankful for Instagram
Danny and I don't have iPhones or Androids. It'll probably be a long time before we can justify the price. But we both have older iPods that we use regularly so as long as we have access to wifi, we have access to Instagram and I love it. I wish the older iPods had better cameras but then what would Apple do when it was time to announce their new products? They wouldn't have some flashy upgrade to add to an existing device!
At least I have a regular camera to document the big events. Instagram and Facebook have taken over the blogging world. That is the only thing I don't love about it. People have abandoned their blogs because it's faster and easier to take a picture, immediately give it a caption and send it off to Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr or the Instagram world and it's FREE. It's so convenient and it gives people who normally wouldn't blog, a fast and easy way to share what's going on in their lives. For this reason--I love it. It's definitely no substitute for real blogging but I love it all the same. When I first started seeing Instagram posts show up on Facebook it totally annoyed me! I'm not sure why--it was like one more thing to fill up my news feed. But I understand that unless you have an Instagram account, you can't see the pictures other people are taking {to my knowledge} so until that changes {if it ever does}, the FB thing is fine with me. I know other people get bugged by it too sometimes so I try to keep my FB sharing to a limit. In fact, I might just create a little survey because now I'm really curious to see what non-instagram users are thinking. I know this is super nerdy...don't judge me.
